Colonel Lucius Petworth is a Union Army officer, newspaper man, anti-Syndicalist crusader and a confessed abuser of silver iodide, a toxic substance used in the processing of daguerreotype prints. As a 180-year-old committed reactionary and addict, Col. Petworth is prone to irresponsible outbursts, fringe opinions and personal insults. It’s probably wise not to take him too seriously.
